A number of posthumous copies were made of the prizewinning work
in clay of the sculptor János Fadrusz, entitled Christ
on the cross. One of them cast in bronze can be found in the
small cemetery of the Premonstratenesians established in 1927.
The statue was placed on the sepulchre of Menyhért Takács
(1861-1933) provost prelate, who founded the institute. The mortal
remains of Menyhért Takács were delivered home to
the monastery of Jászóvár in 1943, on the
tenth anniversary of his death. The crucifix can, however, still
be seen in the cemetery closed down since 1950 on the suppression
of the order, but which is now accessible via the footpath leading
to it beside the open-air swimming pool of the university.
